“There’s a lot of beauty in ordinary things. Isn’t that the point?”
Yesterday I decided to go to one of my Argentinian friend’s house in a little city called Tigre (which is about an hour from where I am).
It was the girl’s cousin’s birthday and she invited a group of like 15 people to come and spend the night and hang out.
I was nervous at first, I knew a total of 2 people out of the 15 that were there and one of the those girls brought her boyfriend along.
I’ll admit, it was kind of awkward, spending the night with people who were already a close group of friends, from a different country and spoke a different language, and I was afraid I would regret my choice.
But I will admit, I had a good time.
Everyone there was really nice (especially these group of guys who were basically a 3-man comedian group and were absolutely hilarious the whole night).
It was a pretty quiet day. We had lunch and hung out outside until it started to get really cold and then we started a fire in the fireplace in the living room and sat around drinking beer.
Afterwards, I helped my friend make dinner for everyone and afterwards we sat around the fireplace again, playing a drinking game from my friend’s iPhone and Taboo.
Then it started to die down and we just sat around until we all decided to go to bed.
All in all, while I don’t think I made a huge impression, I’m glad I was welcomed into the already close-knit group and I am happy I did something new.
